Job summary

Fortescue Zero invites applications for a 12-month industrial placement in our Formula E Control Systems group, Sept 2027–Aug 2028. You will work with skilled engineers, developing control strategies using MATLAB for on-car and off-car environments and contributing to vehicle software testing and test procedures.

Eligible candidates are pursuing degrees in Mechanical, Aerospace, Automotive, Electronics, Mechatronics, Software or Motorsport Engineering, with an understanding of vehicle dynamics

Qualifications

• Pursuing a degree in a relevant engineering field.
• Interest in vehicle dynamics is advantageous.
• 12-month industrial placement starting Sep 2027.

Responsibilities

• Work as part of the Car Development Team.
• Develop control strategies using the MATLAB toolchain for on-car and off-car environments (DIL, HIL).
• Develop new methodologies and test procedures to ensure code test coverage in Vehicle Control Module, Inverter and Motor Control software.
• Test hardware and control modules across multiple test facilities.
• Prepare and support systems on operational vehicles at test and race events.
