Job summary

Jaguar TCS Racing Fortescue offers a 12-month Industrial Placement in Vehicle Performance (Strategy & Software) in the UK. You will work with the Strategy & Software team to develop tools, analyse data, and support race operations at the track.

The placement runs Summer 2027–Summer 2028, providing exposure to real-time data pipelines, source control, and a high-performance motorsport environment. Many placements lead to graduate roles.

Responsibilities

• Development of in-house software tools to optimise race strategy & energy management in real-time environments using timing and car data.
• Analysis of car, simulation and timing data to inform strategic decision making.
• Contribution to pre and post event analysis of race strategy and competitor performance.
• Ensure that software is robust for use in production environments with a very high attention to detail.
• Use source control and collaboration tools to maintain code whilst exercising modern best practices.
• Maintenance and improvement of data pipelines to make processes and analysis more automatic.
• Participation in the Ops Room during race weekends to support the team at the track. This may occasionally require unsociable working hours.
