Job summary

Moulton Bulb Company in the United Kingdom is seeking an experienced forklift operator to join our yard team. You will drive forklifts and related equipment to load, unload and move produce safely, ensure loads are secure, and maintain a clean, organised yard.

You will also train and mentor drivers, perform routine vehicle checks, report defects, and support site maintenance. This role requires practical yard experience and a focus on safety and efficiency.

Qualifications

• Proven forklift operation experience and driving within a busy yard.
• Strong health and safety awareness with hands-on risk reduction.
• Ability to train and mentor other forklift drivers.

Responsibilities

• Operate forklifts and other material handling equipment to load, unload and transport produce and materials safely.
• Ensure loads are secure and protect people, buildings, and machinery and move bins, pallets, trays and materials across site.
• Stack bins, pallets and trays safely and to the correct height.
• Use ramps safely for loading and unloading trays, big bags, and garlic.
• Perform routine checks including cleaning, water, oil, diesel and tyre pressure for forklifts.
• Report any defects with machinery and equipment immediately.
• Use shunter, scissor lift and compactor to handle bins, pallets, big bags and bulk materials.
• Keep waste areas organised and controlled.
• Salt walkways and outdoor forklift areas during cold snaps.
• Unload and store tray and cardboard deliveries.
• Maintain stock of trays, pallets and packaging for factory use.
• Operate the 3t box tipper for 3-tonne bins and decanting big bags.
• Maintain full traceability using a scanner for all product moved or stored on site.
• Keep yard tidy and prepared for outloads (boxes, bags, bulk).
• Manage pallet intake/outload (White, Brown, Blue, Red).
• Carry out floor repairs and general site/yard maintenance.
• Weekly greasing, refuelling and AdBlue top-up for shunter and teleporter.
