Job summary

Impact Handling is recruiting for a technician based at our Corby Equipment Preparation Centre. You will perform routine maintenance and repairs on hire machines and customer equipment, ensuring quality and professional standards are met at all times.

You will inspect, service and prepare new, used and demonstration equipment for customers, maintain battery levels for electric fleets, and work with minimal supervision while adhering to ISO and H&S requirements.

Responsibilities

• Inspect trucks entering the depot and carry out agreed repairs.
• Ensure completed trucks are correctly inspected prior to despatch and have a valid LOLER inspection.
• Identify any damage on trucks coming off hire and advise the Workshop Manager.
• Inspect trucks off hire and advise faults and rectify times.
• Complete pre-delivery inspection on all new equipment to pre-set standards.
• Maintain and prepare demo fleet equipment for customer/dealer requirements.
• Maintain charge levels of traction batteries for electric-powered equipment.
• Unload trucks, equipment, batteries and chargers as they relate to the department.
• Produce a goods received note for arrivals and keep records up to date.
• Plan workload with the Workshop Manager to minimise non-utilised time.
• Submit detailed parts requisitions with accurate information for computer records.
• Work mostly without supervision, upholding Impact Handling quality standards.
• Report defective tooling or equipment to the Workshop Manager.
• Project a professional image and wear company uniform.
• Ensure all documentation is completed per ISO9001:2000 and ISO14001 procedures.
• Keep the work area clean and organised per ISO standards.
• Pass documentation to the service department promptly.
• Work safely in line with Safe Working Practice and H&S standards.
• Attend Internal/External training courses as required.
