Job summary

Kemp Recruitment Ltd is seeking a hands-on Forklift Engineer for our Sheffield depot. Join a busy workshop team and service a hire fleet of forklifts, carrying out LOLER inspections and repairs to ensure units are ready for hire.

Based in our Sheffield depot, you will work Monday to Friday, 8:00am to 4:30pm, with overtime paid at 1.5x when available. The role requires independent working, strong safety focus and practical fault-finding skills.

Qualifications

• Previous engineering experience working with forklifts, plant machinery or HGVs.
• Mechanical and fault‑finding skills.
• Experience carrying out servicing, repairs and maintenance.
• LOLER inspection experience would be beneficial.
• The ability to work independently without requiring significant supervision.
• A practical, hands‑on approach and a strong focus on quality and safety.

Responsibilities

• Servicing and maintaining a hire fleet of forklifts.
• Carrying out LOLER inspections and associated checks.
• Diagnosing and completing repairs and maintenance work.
• Working primarily on Combilift equipment.
• Ensuring equipment is maintained to a high standard and is ready for hire.
• Working independently and managing your workload effectively.
• Supporting the wider workshop team as required.
