Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Safely operating a forklift truck to move pallets, materials and finished products.
• Working on a busy pallet line to ensure smooth flow of products.
• Wrapping and strapping finished products for packaging and dispatch.
• Loading and unloading pallets and materials as required.
• Moving completed pallets to storage and dispatch locations.
• Checking finished products for quality and packaging.
• Ensuring safe stacking, wrapping and strapping.
• Supporting printing and production teams to keep lines running.
• Working to daily production targets with quality and safety.
• Carrying out daily forklift checks and reporting defects.
• Maintaining clean, tidy production and warehouse areas.
• Assisting with additional general production and warehouse duties.

Job Description

We are currently recruiting for a hardworking and reliable Forklift Truck Driver / Production Operative to join a busy and fast-paced production environment based in Stone, Staffordshire.

This is a hands-on role combining forklift truck driving with general production duties, including wrapping, strapping and preparing finished products coming off the printing machinery ready for storage and dispatch.

The successful candidate must be comfortable working in a fast-paced, target-driven environment where teamwork, efficiency and attention to detail are essential.

Key Responsibilities

• Safely operating a forklift truck to move pallets, materials and finished products around the site.
• Working on a busy pallet line to ensure the smooth flow of products through production.
• Wrapping and strapping finished products coming off the printing machinery, ensuring they are securely packaged and ready for transportation or dispatch.
• Loading and unloading pallets and materials as required.
• Moving completed pallets from production areas to designated storage and dispatch locations.
• Checking finished products for quality, damage and correct packaging.
• Ensuring products are stacked, wrapped and strapped safely and securely.
• Supporting the printing and production teams to keep machinery and production lines running efficiently.
• Working to daily production targets while maintaining high standards of quality and safety.
• Carrying out daily forklift checks and reporting any defects.
• Keeping the production and warehouse areas clean, tidy and organised.
• Assisting with additional general production and warehouse duties when required.

Skills and Experience Required

• Previous forklift truck driving experience, ideally within a manufacturing, printing or production environment.
• Valid forklift truck licence or relevant recognised certification.
• Experience working in a fast-paced production or warehouse environment.
• Previous experience wrapping, strapping or preparing palletised products would be advantageous.
• Ability to work quickly and accurately while maintaining safety standards.
• Good attention to detail and a hands-on approach.
• Physically fit and comfortable with manual handling duties.
• Reliable, punctual and able to work effectively as part of a team.
• Flexible attitude and willingness to assist with different tasks across the production area.

The Ideal Candidate

We are looking for someone who is proactive, hardworking and confident operating a forklift truck, but equally happy to get involved with hands-on production duties.

You must be able to keep up with a busy printing and pallet line, ensuring finished products are wrapped, strapped, stacked and moved efficiently without causing delays to production.
