Job summary

Evolve Personnel is recruiting for a Furnace Operator / Forklift Driver (Counterbalance licence essential) in Wednesbury. The role is PM shift, training provided, with a TEMP TO PERM assignment. You will monitor furnaces, manage temperatures, and ensure material quality and safe operation throughout the production process.

Location: Wednesbury, PM shift 14:30–23:45, Monday to Thursday. This temporary role offers progression to permanent employment for the right candidate.

Qualifications

• Counterbalance forklift licence is essential.
• Experience monitoring furnace operations.
• Strong emphasis on safety procedures.
• Maintaining accurate heating cycle records.

Responsibilities

• Monitor equipment to ensure production goals are met.
• Control furnace temperatures within safe limits and adjust as needed.
• Check raw material quality for chemical composition and physical properties.
• Maintain records of heating cycles with temperature and time settings.
• Perform regular maintenance on furnaces and related equipment.
• Ensure material flow to/from furnace stays within capacity limits.
• Observe furnace operation for proper and safe performance.
• Transfer molten metal to casting using counterbalance forklift.

Furnace Operator - Immediate Start

Our client are part of one of the UKs biggest Engineering Companies they produce aluminium castings for various industries and are recruiting for the following

Furnace Operator / Forklift Driver (Licence for Counterbalance Essential)

• Location Wednesbury


• PM Shift - 14.30 pm - 11.45 pm Monday to Thursday (Training)


• Duration of assignment - TEMP TO PERM

Main Duties:

• Monitoring equipment to ensure that it is in good working order and that production goals are being met


• Monitoring furnace operations to make sure that temperatures are within safe limits and adjusting controls as needed


• Monitoring the quality of raw materials entering the furnace to ensure they meet standards for chemical composition and physical properties such as density and particle size distribution


• Maintaining records of all heating cycles performed, including temperature and time settings, to ensure accurate data is available for future reference


• Performing regular maintenance on furnaces or other equipment used in the production process to ensure that they continue to operate efficiently


• Monitoring the amount of raw material entering the furnace to ensure that it does not exceed the maximum capacity level set by the manufacturer


• Monitoring the amount of finished product exiting the furnace to ensure that it does not exceed the maximum capacity level set by the manufacturer


• Observing the furnace during operation to ensure that it is operating properly and safely


• Transfer of molten metal to the casting section using a counterbalance forklift truck
