Job summary

Workchain is recruiting for a Counterbalance Forklift Driver in Thetford on a temp-to-perm basis. This role involves roughly 50% forklift driving and 50% general warehouse duties, with Monday to Friday hours and no weekend work.

Excellent long‑term potential as a permanent position becomes available. Starting pay is £13.00 per hour, increasing to £13.58 per hour once permanent, with weekly pay on Wednesdays.

Qualifications

• A valid Counterbalance FLT licence.
• Previous Counterbalance Forklift experience — essential.
• Experience working in a warehouse environment.
• Willingness to work both on the forklift and as part of the warehouse team.
• Ability to carry out manual handling duties with building materials.
• Reliable, hardworking and positive attitude.
• Ability to work well as part of a team.

Responsibilities

• Operating a Counterbalance Forklift.
• Loading and unloading vehicles.
• Moving stock safely around the warehouse.
• Picking and preparing orders.
• Handling building materials, including insulation, plasterboard and related products.
• Carrying out general warehouse duties.
• Supporting the wider warehouse team to ensure operations run smoothly.

We are currently recruiting for an experienced Counterbalance Forklift Driver to join our client in Thetford on a temp-to-perm basis. About the Role
