Job summary

Select Recruitment Specialists Ltd is seeking an experienced Counterbalance Forklift Driver to join a busy manufacturing site in Eye, Suffolk. You will safely move glass jars, materials and finished products, ensuring careful handling and correct storage throughout the site.

Key duties include operating a Counterbalance forklift, loading/unloading deliveries, moving items between production, storage and dispatch areas, and conducting daily forklift checks.

Qualifications

• Valid Counterbalance Forklift licence.
• Previous experience operating a Counterbalance Forklift.
• Desirable: warehouse, manufacturing or production experience.

Responsibilities

• Operate a Counterbalance Forklift safely and efficiently around the site.
• Load and unload deliveries, avoiding damage or breakage.
• Move glass jars and materials between production, storage and dispatch areas.
• Transport finished goods to designated storage locations.
• Stack and store products safely and correctly.
• Carry out daily forklift and equipment checks.
• Report faults, damage or safety issues.
• Follow site health and safety procedures, especially with glass.
• Maintain a clean, tidy and safe working environment.
• Work as part of the warehouse and production team.

Job description

We are currently recruiting for an experienced Counterbalance Forklift Driver to join a busy manufacturing site based in Eye, Suffolk.

The successful candidate will be responsible for safely moving glass jars, materials and finished products around the site, ensuring goods are handled carefully and stored correctly.

Working Hours & Pay

• Monday to Friday, 07:15-16:00
• £13.50 per hour

Key Responsibilities

• Operate a Counterbalance Forklift safely and efficiently around the site
• Load and unload deliveries, taking care to avoid damage or breakage
• Move glass jars and materials between production, storage and dispatch areas
• Transport finished goods to designated storage locations
• Stack and store products safely and correctly
• Carry out daily forklift and equipment checks
• Report any faults, damage or safety issues
• Follow all site health and safety procedures, particularly when handling glass products
• Maintain a clean, tidy and safe working environment
• Work effectively as part of the wider warehouse and production team

Requirements

• Valid Counterbalance Forklift licence
• Previous experience operating a Counterbalance Forklift
• Previous warehouse, manufacturing or production experience is desirable
• Good understanding of health and safety procedures
• Careful and responsible approach to handling fragile products
• Good attention to detail
• Reliable, punctual and hardworking
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
