Job summary

Forestry England seeks a Works Supervisor to lead on-the-ground forest operations in the West England Forest District. You’ll support the beat forester in all aspects of forest management, including restocking and timber harvesting, and you’ll coordinate contractors to meet health, safety and quality targets.

Based at Leigh Woods, Abbots Leigh, Bristol, this fixed-term role offers a 37-hour week and a salary of £30,105 per year.

Responsibilities

• You will support the beat forester in all aspects of forest management on the beat, including restocking and timber harvesting.
• You will be responsible for managing and coordinating contractors to complete works to a high health & safety and quality standard, ensuring targets are met within a given time frame.
• You should be able to work closely with a team to solve problems and manage challenges that may arise throughout the process.
