Job summary

SSEN Transmission is recruiting a Forestry Manager (Compensatory Planting) based in Scotland (Inverness, Aberdeen or Perth). The role covers planning, design and delivery of compensatory planting across transmission projects in the north of Scotland.

You will lead planting proposals, assess woodland impacts and work with landowners, contractors and authorities to deliver safe, compliant forestry work within budget and programme constraints.

Qualifications

• Strong knowledge of forestry management and woodland creation.
• Understanding of UK Forestry Standard and compensatory planting requirements.
• Experience supporting environmental and consent processes related to forestry work.
• Proven ability to work with landowners, contractors and authorities across project lifecycles.

Responsibilities

• Lead planning, design and delivery of compensatory planting across projects.
• Develop planting proposals, woodland management plans and forestry activity.
• Identify planting opportunities and manage forestry-related risks.
• Provide forestry input from early site identification to aftercare and delivery.
