Job summary

The Holden School in Manchester is seeking an enthusiastic Outdoor Learning & Forest School Instructor to help children and young people discover confidence, resilience and a love of learning through nature. You will design and deliver engaging outdoor experiences that develop independence, teamwork and life skills, tailoring activities to meet the needs of students with SEND.

Qualifications

• Experience working with children with SEND (Special Educational Needs) is desirable.
• Ability to motivate and inspire children of different ages and abilities.
• Strong safety awareness and ability to conduct risk assessments.

Responsibilities

• Plan and deliver Forest School and outdoor learning sessions.
• Create engaging learning experiences tailored to individual student needs.
• Promote resilience, teamwork and confidence through outdoor activities.
• Ensure safety and wellbeing by carrying out risk assessments and maintaining equipment.
• Collaborate with teachers and support staff to embed outdoor learning across the curriculum.
• Supervise students during outdoor sessions and enrichment activities.
• Maintain records of student progress and participation.
• Champion outdoor learning to support each child's development.
