Job summary

Nottinghamshire Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust is seeking a full time, permanent Band 5 Speech and Language Therapist to work within the Forensic setting at Rampton Hospital. You will assess and treat patients with SLCN and dysphagia, linking communication goals to the MDT and ensuring patient-centred care.

You will be supported by a Clinical Lead SLT and work with SLT assistants, apprentices, and other therapists to deliver high-quality rehabilitation and to develop functional, patient-led

Qualifications

• Degree in Speech & Language Therapy and HCPC registration.
• Evidence of continuing professional development.
• Experience as part of a Multi-Disciplinary Team.
• Experience with adults with learning disabilities or Deaf patients.
• Desirable: basic dysphagia training or supervised dysphagia experience.
• Desirable: RCSLT membership.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct and group interventions to address SLCN and dysphagia.
• Engage in joint goal setting with patient and MDT.
• Support junior colleagues and provide second opinions.
• Keep accurate records and caseload management.
• Deliver written information: reports, care plans, easy read.
• Assist with safeguarding and violence management.
• Support offender/psychological programmes to optimise accessibility.
• Provide or develop staff to deliver interventions.
• Ensure communication goals are embedded within MDT.
• Engage in CPD and knowledge sharing.
