Job summary

Ministry of Justice is seeking a Forensic or Clinical Registered Psychologist to join Psychology Services for the North East & Yorkshire region. You will work with prisoners, people on probation, and staff to reduce risk of harm and re-offending through risk assessment, research, consultancy and staff training.

The post includes designated supervision of trainee psychologists, line management responsibilities, and non-rotational duties. English language proficiency is essential for all duties.

Qualifications

• HCPC registration with HCPC is required or maintained
• Continued Professional Development (CPD) maintained
• Experience working with offender populations is desirable

Responsibilities

• Provide risk assessment for prisoners and assess risk of harm and re-offending
• Deliver consultancy and provide training for staff and teams
• Supervise trainees and provide designated supervision to psychology staff
• Offer professional advice on targets and objectives for offenders and contribute to strategy
• Lead on risk assessment and risk management across caseloads
• Act as expert witness or professional witness where required and participate in multi-agency meetings
