CS UK Recruitment Ltd is assisting a hospital in Abertillery, Wales, to recruit a Consultant Psychiatrist (Forensic). This permanent, full-time role is based in a low secure service for men, with day shifts and excellent career prospects.

Applicants must hold GMC registration, with forensic accreditation in progress preferred; the post includes responsibilities for clinical leadership, multi-disciplinary collaboration and high standards of patient care in a secure setting.

Formación

• Must hold Full GMC Registration.
• Experience in psychiatry within multi-disciplinary teams.
• Be accredited or about to be accredited in Forensic psychiatry.
• Have had an appraisal/RITA within the last year.

Responsabilidades

• Ensure adequate handover to colleagues including out of hours.
• Review the mental state of patients as per hospital procedure.
• Ensure that each patient has a full physical health screen upon admission including physical examination, ECG and bloods.
• Take the lead with managing any physical health concerns that emerge during inpatient stay.
• Seek collateral history from other professionals and family.
• Complete discharge letters/reports/S62 forms as required in a timely manner.
• Prepare mental health review tribunal and Hospital Managers’ hearing reports under supervision.
