Job summary

Hertfordshire Partnership University NHS Foundation Trust seeks an Occupational Therapy Assistant in Abbots Langley to join the Recovery team within our Medium Secure Male Learning Disability Forensic Service. You will support Occupational Therapists with group and individual activities, promoting meaningful occupation and helping service users on their recovery pathway.

The role requires NVQ Level 3 or equivalent, willingness to develop skills in computing, group work, and food handling, and

Qualifications

Knowledge of OT techniques and/or activities relevant to client group; NVQ3 equivalent level.
Willingness to undertake Computi ng Skills, Group Skills, Food Handling within 12 months of appointment.
Health and Safety Training; Food Handling & Hygiene.
Technical qualification e.g. City & Guilds or Health & Social Care NVQ Level 3.

Responsibilities

To facilitate occupationally based groups as identified by an Occupational Therapist.
To work individually with service users on tasks and therapeutic activities.
To promote a culture of engagement in meaningful occupation to enhance quality of life.
To provide interventions aligned with Trust standards and values.
To provide feedback on observed occupational performance to inform assessments and interventions.
To maintain clinical records using the electronic patient record system.
To liaise with carers and other professionals as relevant.
To manage time effectively, maintain punctuality and attendance.
To attend mandatory training and complete development activities.
