Job summary

Hertfordshire Partnership University NHS Foundation Trust invites applications for an Occupational Therapy Assistant in Radlett. The role supports the Occupational Therapy lead Recovery team, delivering occupationally focused interventions under qualified OT supervision using the Model of Human Occupation.

You will facilitate groups and support individuals, maintain records on the electronic patient record system, and closely liaise with carers and professionals in a multidisciplinary setting.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of OT techniques relevant to the client group; acquired through training and/or experience in an OT/mental health setting to NVQ3 equivalent level.
• Willingness to undertake Computing Skills, Group Skills, Food Handling within 12 months of appointment.

Responsibilities

• Facilitate occupationally based groups as identified by an Occupational Therapist.
• Work individually with service users on tasks and therapeutic activities.
• Promote engagement in meaningful occupation to enhance quality of life.
• Provide interventions aligned with Trust standards and values.
• Provide feedback on observed performance to inform assessment and intervention.
• Maintain clinical records using the electronic patient record system.
• Liaise with carers and other professionals as relevant.
• Demonstrate good time management, punctuality and reliable attendance.
• Attend mandatory training and complete related development activities.
