Hertfordshire Partnership University NHS Foundation Trust is seeking an Occupational Therapy Assistant for the Medium Secure Male Learning Disability Forensic Service in Abbots Langley. You will work under OT supervision, facilitating groups and 1:1 activities to help service users build life skills and reduce risk.

The post involves alternate weekend work, with a salary of £27,106 to £28,850 per year pro rata (inclusive of 5% HCAS).

Competenze

Knowledge of OT techniques and/or activities relevant to client group (OT/mental health setting)
Willingness to undertake computing skills, group skills, and food handling within 12 months
Health and Safety Training, Food Handling & Hygiene
Technical qualification e.g. City & Guilds or Health & Social Care NVQ level 3

Facilitate occupationally based groups identified by an Occupational Therapist
Work individually with service users on specific tasks and therapeutic activity
Promote engagement in meaningful occupation to enhance quality of life
Provide interventions aligned with Trust standards and values
Provide feedback on observed occupational performance to inform assessment and intervention
Maintain clinical records using the electronic patient record system
Liaise with carers and other professionals as relevant
Ensure reliable attendance and time management
Attend mandatory training
Complete training objectives with supervisor
Keep records of training and development activities
