Job summary

Oxleas NHS Foundation Trust's Criminal Justice Team seeks a Liaison and Diversion Practitioner to work with service users who have mental health needs across the criminal justice pathway.

You will assess and implement evidence-based interventions, prepare court reports, assist signposting and recovery, support governance, and foster partnership working to keep people in the community whenever possible.

Responsibilities

• Provide specialist knowledge on forensic mental health within the criminal justice system namely police stations and the courts within Oxleas NHS Foundation Trust, providing expert advice and consultation with colleagues in the criminal justice system and mental health services.
• Work within codes of practice and professional guidelines and be accountable for own professional practice.
• Ensure observance and the working of all relevant legal and statutory requirements.
• Maintain client confidentiality at all times.
• Participate fully in continuous professional development and supervision.
• Mentor and supervise students on placement.
• Ability to work autonomously and demonstrate excellent partnership working skills.
• Demonstrate understanding of psycho-social interventions.
• Collect and implement data from assessments to inform service provision.
