Job summary

Greater Manchester Mental Health Foundation Trust seeks a Senior Liaison and Diversion Practitioner to join the L&D service across Greater Manchester courts and police custody suites. You will lead multi-disciplinary teams, conduct screening and formal assessments, and help triage mental vulnerability for individuals entering the criminal justice system.

Qualifications

• MDT multi-disciplinary collaboration in CJ settings.
• Senior duty role and active participation in the CJ team.
• Screening and formal assessments under CPA, MHA, MCA and Equality Act 2010.
• Support access to health and social care for those in contact with the criminal justice system.

Responsibilities

• Act as senior duty as per rota.
• Improve identification and screening of mental vulnerability in children and adults in contact with the criminal justice system.
• Facilitate assessments per CPA, MHA, MCA and Equality Act 2010 and local pathways.
• Share information with CJ decision makers to inform charging and diversion.
• Support and contribute to risk management for the public.
• Help reduce stigma in health, social care and criminal justice settings.
