Job summary

Humber Centre Trust is seeking a Band 6 Specialist Nurse to lead on the Low Secure Ward within the Forensic Division. The role focuses on patient-centred, evidence-based care for individuals with complex mental health needs in a 20-bedded unit.

You will work with the Ward Manager and multidisciplinary team to model best practice, supervise junior staff, and contribute to continuous service development and governance.

Responsibilities

• Deliver high standards of evidence-based, person-centred care to individuals with complex mental health needs within a low secure forensic setting.
• Coordinate the day-to-day management of the ward, including leading in the ward manager's absence.
• Provide supervision and mentorship to junior staff and students.
• Contribute to risk management and clinical governance.
• Support rehabilitation and reintegration into the community.
• Participate in audit and quality improvement initiatives.
• Work with multidisciplinary team to coordinate care planning and reviews.
