Job summary

West Yorkshire Police is recruiting four Identification Officers for the RSSS to forensically analyse and identify fingerprint and footwear marks recovered from crime scenes.

Positions include roles in Fingerprint Identification and Footwear Identification, with training provided and career progression within the pay scales. The salary ranges shown reflect the bottom and top of the scales, and standard office hours are Monday to Friday in Calder Park, Wakefield.

Qualifications

• Ability to perform fine-detail comparisons and conduct quality assurance checks.
• Excellent communication skills and high level of personal responsibility.
• No prior experience required; comprehensive training programme provided.

Responsibilities

• Forensically analyse, compare and identify fingerprint and footwear marks from crime scenes.
• Assist with training, deliver presentations and ensure procedures meet UK Forensic Regulator standards.
