VGC Group are recruiting a Foreman for a major project in Peterborough. The role ensures the site remains safe, compliant, and fully operational to support efficient production.

The candidate will supervise day-to-day site activities, coordinate teams, and manage heavy earthmoving plant operations while maintaining RAMS and reporting to Site Managers.

Qualifications

• EUSR Water Hygiene certification for clean water sites is required.
• CSCS Black or Gold card is mandatory.
• Level 3 NVQ qualification is required.
• SMSTS certification is required.
• Safety Critical Medical is required.

Responsabilités

• Supervise day-to-day site activities, ensuring work is safe and efficient.
• Lead and coordinate operatives, subcontractors, and plant operators.
• Manage and monitor heavy earthmoving plant operations ( excavators, dumpers, dozers, rollers).
• Ensure activities align with project specifications, drawings and programme timelines.
• Conduct regular toolbox talks and site safety meetings.

VGC Group are currently recruiting for a Foreman to join our team on a major project in Peterborough.

This role ensures the site remains safe, compliant, and fully operational to support efficient production.

Basic pay rate: £27.03 per hour PAYE

Shift: Monday - Friday, 07:30 - 17:30, 30 minutes break.

Lodge and Travel is not available for this role.

Required Qualifications:

• EUSR National Water Hygiene (Clean Water Only) for clean water sites.
• Either CSCS (Black) or CSCS (Gold)
• Level 3 NVQ
• SMSTS
• Safety Critical Medical

Key Responsibilities:

• Supervising day-to-day activities and ensuring work is carried out safely and efficiently.
• Leading and coordinating teams of operatives, subcontractors and plant operators.
• Managing and monitoring heavy earthmoving plant operations including excavators, dumpers, dozers, rollers and associated equipment.
• Ensuring all activities are delivered in line with project specifications, drawings and programme requirements.
• Conducting regular team briefings, toolbox talks and safety meetings.
• Carrying out site inspections and ensuring compliance with Health & Safety legislation.
• Implementing and maintaining safe systems of work, RAMS and environmental controls.
• Managing resources effectively, including labour, plant and materials.
• Monitoring productivity and progress against programme targets.
• Maintaining accurate records including permits, inspections, daily reports and timesheets.
• Liaising with Site Managers, Engineers and other stakeholders to ensure smooth project delivery.
• Identifying and resolving on-site issues relating to ground conditions, earthworks activities and plant operations.
• Following all safety protocols and ensuring appropriate PPE is worn at all times.
• Reporting incidents, near misses and safety concerns to the appropriate personnel.
