Job description

Cabot Financial is currently recruiting a Forecasting Manager for their Forecasting team. This is a hybrid role with travel to our Kings Hill office required.

Job Purpose

You will be responsible for leading ERC forecasting and predictive financial analytic efforts within our organisation. You will also develop accurate forecasts, analyse trends, and provide insights to support business planning and decision-making. You will work cross-functionally with finance & the core business units to ensure optimal business performance.

Key Accountabilities & Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain forecasting models to predict future ERC levels based on key business metrics. Lead reporting and analysis to support quarterly outputs, including drafting presentation packs for review meetings.
• Collaborate with the business to identify, analyse, and quantify areas requiring manual adjustment in the quarterly reforecast process.
• Present forecasting reports and recommendations to senior management and key stakeholders.
• Enhance forecasting team reporting capabilities and implement new forecasting tools and software to automate and optimize predictive analytics, identifying hidden trends, anomalies, and relationships within data.
• Utilise analytics to improve forecasting processes by working with the Head of Forecasting, DS team, and other core business areas.
• Support periodic parameter updates and analyse their impacts.
• Identify risks and opportunities through scenario planning and sensitivity analysis.
• Ensure compliance with SOx and governance requirements, including group risk requirements.
• Own the ABC model, working with finance, pricing, and strategy teams to support business needs.
• Oversee the ABL reporting process.
• Stay updated with industry trends, economic indicators, and forecasting best practices.
• Handle other ad-hoc requests as needed.

Formal Education & Certification

• Highly numerate and detail-oriented, preferably with a degree in a quantitative field such as mathematics, science, economics, engineering, or equivalent experience.

Knowledge & Experience

• Experience translating analytical output into commercial implications.
• Leadership experience, especially with highly technical teams.
• Collaborative and consultative approach to develop cross-business solutions.
• Strong analytical and quantitative skills.
• Experience with high-volume data industries.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
• Understanding of debt purchase processes and collection strategies.
• Knowledge of statistical sampling techniques like stratified sampling is a plus.
• Proficiency in Databricks and understanding of relational databases.
• Ability to build reports in PowerBi is beneficial.
