Job summary

Interaction Recruitment is recruiting a Footwear Technician (Lab Based) for a permanent, full-time position in Kettering’s footwear testing laboratory. The role focuses on conducting routine physical testing of footwear, materials and components using standard lab equipment.

Full training will be provided, alongside a collaborative team environment that follows UKAS standards to ensure accurate results and timely reporting. Onsite parking and flexible working hours are included.

Qualifications

• GCSEs in Maths, English and Science or NVQ Level 3.
• Proficient in Microsoft Word and Excel.
• Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
• Strong organisation and time management.
• Able to plan and prioritise workload.
• Comfortable working independently or as part of a laboratory team.
• Adaptable with a practical, can-do approach.

Responsibilities

• Operate standard laboratory equipment to carry out routine physical testing of footwear, materials and components.
• Follow established test methods and safety procedures.
• Record and report detailed test results accurately.
• Work to deadlines and testing schedules.
• Maintain laboratory and sample store cleanliness and organization.
• Support continuous improvement activities within the laboratory.
• Maintain training records in line with UKAS requirements.
• Collaborate with other laboratory team members.
