Job summary

Wrexham AFC is seeking a dynamic media assistant to help manage and create regular content for the Club’s official channels. You will work with the Head of Media and Communications to deliver engaging video, audio, graphics and written content that resonates with fans.

The role requires two years’ relevant experience, a passion for football and the ability to perform under tight deadlines in a fast-paced environment. Welsh language skills are a plus; travel to away games is expected.

Qualifications

• Degree or equivalent experience in media, PR, marketing or journalism.
• Proficiency with Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, After Effects).
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Experience in sports or entertainment media is preferred.
• Willingness to travel to away games and events.

Responsibilities

• Assist the Head of Media and Communications in the delivery of the Club’s day-to-day and long-term communications and media plans.
• Create/capture regular and engaging content for the Club’s digital media channels, in line with the Club’s brand, tone of voice and values, including video, audio and graphics.
• Assist the Digital Lead and Social Media Lead and work towards the Club’s content calendar, ensuring a consistent flow of quality content across the Club’s digital and social channels.
• Create written material for the club’s matchday programme and Club website, newsletters and internal communications, and assist with editing content received.
• Assist with the delivery of Club-led events, including organising design, graphics, presentations and printed materials.
• Assist the Head of Media and Communications in managing relationships with external media organisations and handling press requests.
• Respond swiftly and appropriately to incoming supporter queries received via social media channels.
• Ensure all internal and external marketing material strictly complies with the Club’s brand guidelines and editorial style guide.
• Provide matchday support to the in-house media team, and external agencies.
• Work closely and build relationships with key stakeholders both within the Club and externally, including playing/coaching staff and agencies.
• Assist with the planning, production and implementation of the Club’s CRM strategy and devise innovative and engaging ways to grow its database.
• Produce regular analytics reports for digital and social media channels to inform plans and KPIs.
• Carry out additional duties as reasonably as requested and required by the Head of Media and Communications.
• Any other duties as required.
