Job summary

Wrexham AFC is seeking a creative videographer to join our growing media team, filming and editing content that showcases the club, its players, staff, supporters and community initiatives across YouTube, Instagram, TikTok, X, Facebook and the club website.

You will handle matchday and behind‑the‑scenes shoots, produce short and long form content with strong storytelling, and help grow the club’s content strategy while maintaining brand identity.

Qualifications

• A degree in broadcast/sports media/film production or equivalent experience.
• Proven videography and video editing experience, preferably within a Football Club setting.
• Strong proficiency in Adobe Premiere Pro and other Adobe Creative Suite applications.
• Excellent camera operation skills with DSLR, mirrorless and professional broadcast equipment.
• Understanding of lighting, audio recording and video production techniques.
• Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.

Responsibilities

• Work on projects covering men’s, women’s and academy teams, including filming matches, training, press conferences and events.

The Role

Wrexham AFC is seeking a creative, passionate and highly motivated Videographer to join our growing media team. The successful candidate will play a key role in capturing and producing engaging video content that showcases the club, its players, staff, supporters and community initiatives across a range of digital and broadcast platforms. The Videographer will be responsible for filming, editing and delivering high-quality content that helps tell the story of Wrexham AFC to a global audience while maintaining the club’s brand identity and values.

Main Responsibilities

Content Creation

• Work on a variety of projects, covering men’s, women’s and academy teams - including filming first-team matches, training sessions, press conferences and Club events.
• Produce a range of engaging video content for club platforms and social channels, including YouTube, Instagram, TikTok, X, Facebook and the club website.
• Capture behind-the-scenes footage to provide supporters with unique access to the Club.
• Create promotional videos, player features, sponsor content and commercial campaigns.
• Assist with matchday content production, including pre-match, Matchday Live and post-match coverage.
• Develop ideas from initial concepts right through to the publishing stage.
• Help to drive the club’s content strategy forward with fresh, innovative and ambitious ideas.
• Set up, maintain and make use of the Club’s large video archive.

Video Production & Editing

• Edit footage into compelling, high-quality video content and strong story-telling.
• Create short-form and long-form content suitable for multiple digital platforms.
• Add graphics, subtitles, music and branding elements in line with Club guidelines
• Ensure content is delivered to agreed deadlines and publishing schedules.

Camera Operation

• Take on a range of shooting responsibilities, including interviews, matches and behind the scenes.
• Ensure high-quality footage is captured at all times.
• Have the ability to ‘read the room’ when capturing behind the scenes.
• Ensure equipment is correctly maintained, cared for and stored.

Matchday Operations

• Support the media department during home and away fixtures.
• Capture match-day atmosphere, fan experiences and key moments.
• Work alongside photographers, social media and partners, with the Digital Lead and Social Media Lead to maximise content output.
• Assist with live production requirements when required.

Content Planning

• Contribute creative ideas for new content series and campaigns.
• Work closely with the Media, Commerncial and Marketing teams to develop engaging content strategies.
• Support sponsor activation and branded content initiatives.
• Help identify emerging trends and opportunities across digital media platforms.

Asset Management

• Maintain an organised archive of video footage and project files.
• Ensure all content is stored securely and labelled appropriately.
• Manage filming equipment and ensure it remains in excellent working condition.

You’ll have

Essential

• A degree in broadcast/sports media/film production or equivalent experience.
• Proven experience in videography and video editing, preferably within a Football Club setting.
• Strong proficiency in Adobe Premiere Pro and other Adobe Creative Suite applications.
• Excellent camera operation skills, including DSLR, mirrorless and professional broadcast equipment.
• Understanding of lighting, audio recording and video production techniques.
• Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
• Strong organisational and communication skills.
• Flexibility to work evenings and weekends, and travel as required.
• Full UK driving license.
• Passion for football and sport story-telling
• Keen sense of visual storytelling and composition.

• Knowledge of motion graphics and Adobe After Effects.
• Experience with live streaming and broadcast production.
• Drone operating qualifications and experience.
• Understanding of social media trends and audience engagement strategies.

Experience and Qualifications required

• A degree in broadcast/sports media/film production or equivalent experience.
• Experience using a variety of camcorders, DSLRs and GoPros.
• Knowledge of sound and lighting set ups.
• Good knowledge and experience of using Adobe Creative Cloud (particularly Premiere Pro, After Effects and Media Encoder).
• Proficient in Microsoft Office applications.
