Job summary

Attleborough Academy is seeking a part-time Food Technician to support the teaching of Food Technology and help ensure the smooth running of practical classes.

Working one day a week (Monday) and reporting to the Food Technology teacher and Head of Technologies Faculty, you will prepare resources, maintain equipment and uphold a safe working environment for pupils.

Salary is Scale Points 5-6 (£4,608-£4,764 actual pa) for part-time, term-time plus one week, with October 2026 start.

• Ability to work with and support young people in a school setting.
• Willingness to undertake safeguarding and DBS checks where required.

Responsibilities

• Assist and support the Food Technology department, maintaining equipment and preparing resources for lessons.
• Support the day-to-day teaching activities under supervision of the Food Technology teacher and Head of Technologies Faculty.
• Maintain a safe working environment for practical classes.

With effect from October 2026, we are seeking to appoint a part-time Food Technician, working one day per week (Monday) to support the teaching of Food Technology enabling the smooth running of practical classes and maintaining a safe working environment.

Working under the day-to-day supervision of our Food Technology teacher and the Head of Technologies Faculty, you will be required to assist and support the department which will include maintaining equipment and preparing resources for lessons.

The appointed candidate must have positive approaches to and enjoy working with young people. In turn, you will have a fulfilling opportunity to work with staff and students supporting a popular subject within our Academy community.

Working hours for this post will be 08:15 to 16:15 on a Monday
