Job summary

Teaching Personnel is seeking a dedicated Teacher of Food Technology for a Blackburn secondary school. The role runs from November 2026 to July 2027 within the Design & Technology department, and is suitable for both experienced teachers and ECTs passionate about practical cooking and nutrition.

The successful candidate will plan and deliver lessons across KS3 and KS4, motivate learners, assess progress, and contribute to school life. MPS/UPS offered depending on experience.

Qualifications

• Holds QTS or an equivalent teaching qualification.
• Experience teaching Food Technology within a secondary school setting.
• Can motivate and inspire learners of varying abilities.
• Is organised, proactive and committed to raising standards.

Responsibilities

• Plan and deliver high-quality Food Technology lessons across KS3 and KS4.
• Create a positive and engaging learning environment that encourages student participation.
• Teach practical and theory-based elements of the curriculum, including nutrition, food science and healthy eating.
• Assess, monitor and support student progress.
• Contribute to the wider life of the department and school community.
