Job summary

Marchant Recruitment is assisting a thriving Wigan secondary school in recruiting a Food Technology Teacher for a full-time role with an ASAP start. You will teach across KS3 to KS5, delivering practical and theoretical lessons to build students’ understanding of nutrition, food science and culinary skills.

Qualifications

• QTS or equivalent teaching qualification.
• Degree in Food Technology, Food Science, Design Technology or related subject.
• Strong subject knowledge in Food Technology.
• Experience teaching Food Technology at secondary level with KS3–KS5 confidence.

Responsibilities

• Plan and deliver engaging Food Technology lessons.
• Teach across KS3, KS4 and KS5.
• Prepare students for GCSE and A Level examinations.
• Support practical work and coursework and assess progress.
• Maintain high standards of behaviour and classroom expectations.
• Contribute to departmental planning and wider school activities.

Education

QTS or equivalent teaching qualification

Degree in Food Technology, Food Science, Design Technology or related subject

Strong classroom management

Excellent communication skills

KS3–KS5 teaching experience
