Job summary

TeacherActive is recruiting a Food Technology Teacher for a secondary school in Rhondda Cynon Taf (RCT), Wales. The position is part-time, long-term with an immediate start, focusing on practical cooking lessons and robust health and safety practices.

You will lead engaging classes and uphold high standards in behaviour and learning. The successful candidate will hold QTS with Food Technology, have secondary school teaching experience, and bring strong practical cooking skills alongside

Wales/ temporary / £172.98 - 220.00 per day

Are you a qualified Food Technology Teacher with strong practical cooking and food preparation skills?

Can you deliver engaging Food Technology lessons while maintaining high expectations in the classroom?

Do you have the resilience and classroom management skills to support pupils who may display challenging behaviour?

TeacherActive is proud to be working with a secondary school in RCT that provides a supportive working environment for its teaching staff. The school has a collaborative staff team who work together to support pupils and effectively manage challenging behaviour.

The school is looking to take on a Food Technology Teacher on a part-time, long-term basis with an immediate start. The successful Food Technology Teacher will be confident delivering practical lessons, demonstrating cooking and food preparation techniques, and maintaining strong classroom management and appropriate health and safety standards.

The successful Food Technology Teacher will have:

• QTS with a relevant Food Technology specialism (NQTs are welcome to apply)
• Experience teaching Food Technology within a secondary school environment
• Strong practical cooking and food preparation skills
• Excellent classroom and behaviour management
• A good understanding of health and safety within a practical teaching environment
• A resilient, adaptable and supportive approach
