Job summary

Class Act is seeking a Food Technician for a long-term temporary, part-time position in an 11–18 secondary school in Witney. The role supports Food Technology lessons and helps maintain kitchen facilities, while ensuring health and safety standards are observed.

Ideal candidates will have experience in food preparation or a technician role, plus a Food Hygiene qualification. The post is paid weekly via PAYE, with safeguarding checks in place for all applicants.

Qualifications

• Previous experience in a food preparation, catering, or technician role is desirable.
• Food Hygiene qualification is advantageous.
• Strong organisational skills and attention to detail.
• Understanding of food safety and hygiene procedures.

Responsibilities

• Preparing ingredients, materials, and equipment for practical lessons.
• Supporting the delivery of Food Technology lessons.
• Maintaining kitchen equipment and ensuring resources are readily available.
• Monitoring stock levels and ordering supplies when required.
• Ensuring compliance with health, safety, and food hygiene regulations.
• Cleaning and maintaining food preparation areas.
• Assisting teaching staff with lesson preparation and classroom organisation.
• Supporting students during practical activities where appropriate.
