Job summary

TimePlan Education is seeking a dedicated Food Technician to support secondary schools across East London. You will help prepare and run practical food technology lessons, ensuring hygiene, safety, and organisation.

You'll work alongside teachers and students, demonstrating cooking techniques, managing ingredients and equipment, and helping students develop practical food skills in a supportive learning environment.

Qualifications

• Experience in food technology, catering, hospitality, or a similar practical role.
• Good knowledge of food hygiene and safe working practices.
• Strong organisational and communication skills.
• A proactive and practical approach.
• A genuine interest in food and supporting students.

Responsibilities

• Prepare ingredients, equipment, and classrooms for practical lessons
• Support and demonstrate food preparation and cooking techniques
• Maintain and safely operate kitchen equipment
• Manage food stocks, ingredients, and ordering
• Ensure high standards of food hygiene, cleanliness, and health and safety
• Support teachers and students during practical lessons and projects
