Job summary

Tradewind Recruitment is seeking a Full-Time Food Technician for a secondary school in Huyton. You will support practical Food Technology lessons, prepare ingredients and equipment, and help maintain a safe, well-organised kitchen.

You'll work Monday to Friday during term-time, support pupils aged 11-16, and assist teachers to ensure lessons run smoothly. A good grasp of food hygiene and health & safety is desirable, with a proactive, reliable approach.

Qualifications

• Experience in a school, kitchen, or food preparation setting is desirable.
• Good understanding of food hygiene and health & safety practices.
• Confident working with secondary pupils (11-16).
• Reliable, organised and proactive team player.

Responsibilities

• Prepare ingredients, equipment and resources for Food Technology lessons.
• Support teachers during practical sessions to ensure lessons run smoothly.
• Maintain a clean, safe and well-organised food tech classroom.
• Ensure health and safety and food hygiene standards are followed at all times.
• Support students during practical work and encourage confidence and independence.
• Manage stock, ordering supplies and help with food prep where required.
