Job summary

Dovetail & Slate Ltd in Nottingham is recruiting a Food Teacher for a primary and secondary setting on a competitive term-time contract. You will plan and deliver engaging food and nutrition lessons, helping learners build practical skills and confidence across abilities.

Your role involves planning, adapting, assessing progress and supporting learners to achieve qualifications, while keeping a safe, well-organised practical teaching area and promoting positive behaviour and participation.

Qualifications

• Qualified teacher status (QTS/QTLS/PGCE or DET) required.
• Experience teaching food, nutrition or related practical subject.
• Strong classroom and behaviour management skills.
• Ability to differentiate effectively for individual needs.

Responsibilities

Are you a Food Teacher looking for your next opportunity with a school in the North West?

What We're Looking For

• Strong food and nutrition subject knowledge
• A recognised teaching qualification such as QTS, QTLS, PGCE, Cert Ed or DET

• The ability to differentiate effectively for individual needs

Desirable (but not essential):

• Experience of teaching at GCSE level
• Experience within a range of school settings
