Job summary

Co-op is offering an Undergraduate Food Sustainability Policy Co-ordinator placement in Manchester. The role combines home, office, and occasional supplier-site travel within the UK, for 12 months starting June 2027. You will support ethical sourcing, sustainability, and food policy efforts while gaining cross‑functional experience.

You’ll work on projects, data analysis, and communications to support Co-op’s Future of Food commitments and supplier engagement across our supply chains.

Qualifications

• Knowledge from your second year of undergraduate study in sustainability and related subjects.
• Good understanding of global food supply chain challenges.
• Strong communication and relationship-building skills.
• Genuine interest in ethics and sustainability.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate projects to improve transparency across Co-op supply chains and support Future of Food commitments.
• Maintain project plans, actions and milestones to keep activities on track.
• Build relationships with colleagues, suppliers and partners; develop stakeholder management and influencing skills.
• Support the wider Food Sustainability team with data analysis, reporting and deriving insights.
