Job summary

Sodexo Ltd is seeking a Food Service Assistant at Highworth Warneford School in Swindon. Join a team delivering quality service in a welcoming environment, with term-time hours and a permanent, part-time contract. You’ll help prepare and serve meals and maintain hygiene across the dining areas.

Working pattern is Mon-Thu 10:45–14:00 and Fri 11:00–14:00, 16 hours per week, at £12.71 per hour. Training is provided, and DBS safeguarding checks may apply.

Qualifications

• Experience in catering is helpful but not essential; training will be provided.

Responsibilities

• Assist with the preparation and serving of food and beverages.
• Maintain clean, safe and hygienic kitchen and dining areas.
• Replenish food displays and service counters as required.
• Support deliveries and store supplies appropriately.
• Follow food hygiene, health and safety procedures.
• Provide a friendly and helpful service to customers, colleagues or visitors.

About the Role

As a

Food Service Assistant, you’ll support the day-to-day running of a busy food service operation. From preparing and serving food to keeping the kitchen and dining areas clean and organised, you’ll help ensure everything runs smoothly.

You’ll work as part of a supportive team delivering great service while maintaining high standards of hygiene and safety.

What You’ll Do

Term Time Only – Equated Pay

This role works XX weeks per year. Your salary will be paid in equal monthly instalments across 12 months, meaning you receive consistent pay throughout the year, including during school closure periods.
