Job summary

Sodexo is hiring a General Catering Assistant at Sevenoaks School in Sevenoaks. The role involves assisting with the day-to-day catering operations, serving food, and maintaining hygiene in kitchens and dining areas, within a supportive team and a friendly environment.

The position is term-time only (39 weeks) with equated pay, permanent and full-time, with benefits including onsite parking and a free gym membership. Full training provided and DBS clearance required.

Responsibilities

• Assist with preparation and serving of food to the company’s standards, following central recipes and allergen information.
• Maintain clean, safe and hygienic kitchen and dining areas.
• Clean equipment, walls, floors, fixtures and fittings as required by the rota.
• Assist in loading service counters and ensure supplies throughout service.
• Support at special functions and occasional hours outside normal pattern.
• Relieve in other local units during sickness.
• Replenish food displays and counters; assist deliveries and store supplies.
• Follow food hygiene, health and safety procedures.
• Provide friendly and helpful service to customers, colleagues or visitors.

About the Role

As a General Catering Assistant, you'll support the day-to-day running of a busy food service operation. From preparing and serving food to keeping the kitchen and dining areas clean and organised, you'll help ensure everything runs smoothly.

You’ll work as part of a supportive team delivering great service while maintaining high standards of hygiene and safety.

What You’ll Do

• Assist with the preparation and serving of food to the company's standards, utilising recipes from the central system and to have full knowledge of all allergen information prior to service.
• Maintain clean, safe and hygienic kitchen and dining areas
• Undertake all aspects in the cleaning of equipment - walls (up to 6ft), floors, fixtures and fittings, to the companies' standard according to the cleaning rota as required and directed.
• Assist in loading service counters, as and when directed, and to ensure sufficient supplies throughout the service period, paying particular attention to the minimum style guide standards and implementation of all current marketing offers and promotions.
• Assist, from time to time, at special functions, some of which may occasionally occur outside working hours.
• Relieve in other local units from time to time during sickness
• Replenish food displays and service counters as required
• Support deliveries and store supplies appropriately
• Follow food hygiene, health and safety procedures
• Provide a friendly and helpful service to customers, colleagues or visitors

Additional Information

Term Time Only - Equated Pay Your salary will be paid in equal monthly instalments across 12 months, meaning you receive consistent pay throughout the year, including during school closure periods.
