Job summary

HRGO Recruitment is seeking reliable Food Production Operatives to join a Hatfield Broad Oak-based food manufacturer. You will support production lines, weigh ingredients, pack and label products, and help maintain hygiene in a chilled environment.

Starting pay £12.71 per hour with potential progression to £13.51 per hour and a route from temporary to permanent. Monday to Friday shifts 7:00am–3:00pm, full training provided, immediate starts.

Responsibilities

• Supporting the operation of food mixing machines.
• Adding and weighing spices and ingredients as instructed.
• Feeding raw materials into production lines.
• Packing and labelling finished food products.
• Labelling boxes ready for dispatch.
• Working efficiently on packing and production lines to meet daily targets.
• Carrying out visual quality checks on products.
• Maintaining a clean, organised, and hygienic working environment.
• Following food safety, hygiene, and health & safety procedures at all times.
• Supporting colleagues and supervisors to ensure smooth day-to-day operations.

Hours: Monday to Friday, 7:00am - 3:00pm (30-minute unpaid lunch break)

Working Environment

This role is based within a chilled food production facility. Due to the nature of the products being manufactured, there is a noticeable smell similar to a butcher's environment, along with strong aromas of spices and seasonings used during production.

Applicants should be comfortable working in this type of environment.

• Chilled food production environment
• Warm clothing is recommended
• No jewellery or facial piercings permitted on the factory floor
• All PPE provided daily

Pay & Progression

• Starting rate of £12.71 per hour
• Additional £0.30 per hour upon successful transition to a permanent contract
• Additional £0.50 per hour available through machine training and upskilling
• Potential earnings of up to £13.51 per hour
