Job summary

Avara Foods is seeking a Development Technologist to join the Technical team in Dudley. You will support NPD delivery, work with cross functional teams, and help translate concepts into market-ready products.

The role is office based with factory exposure, Monday to Friday 08:30-17:00, and weekly travel to suppliers and sites. Previous FMCG NPD experience and a retail/food service background are preferred.

Qualifications

• Experience developing and launching new products for retail/food service.
• Experience in FMCG product development.
• Experience managing critical paths and coordinating internal departments.
• Knowledge of the functional characteristics of food ingredients.
• Understanding of product development from concept to launch; familiarity with retailer NPD systems.

Responsibilities

• Research markets and technologies to develop new product concepts.
• Manage product concepts with suppliers against briefs.
• Prepare product costings for profitable launches.
• Update NPD systems with new launches and information.
• Plan production trials and conduct shelf-life assessments.
