Job summary

Greencore Group plc in Consett is recruiting a Packing Operator to join the production team in the packing area, ensuring finished meals are correctly labeled, coded and packed to customer specifications.

You will operate machines following safety and quality procedures, perform regular quality checks, assess and report anomalies, apply sleeves to finished meals, and help prepare pallets for despatch. Full training is provided.

Qualifications

• Experience in a food manufacturer is preferred.
• Good literacy and numeracy skills are essential.
• Strong problem solving abilities.
• Good communicator with the ability to work in a team.
• Allergen awareness is important for product safety.
• L2 Food Safety qualification is preferred but not essential.

Responsibilities

• Operate machines in line with safety and quality procedures.
• Regularly check labels, coding and packaging to meet customer specs.
• Assess and report any anomalies or issues.
• Apply sleeves to finished ready meals.
• Quality check final products and ensure correct marketing on packs.
• Prepare pallets for despatch.
