Job summary

National Trust is seeking a Food and Beverage Team Leader to join our rural cafes network. You’ll lead a small front-of-house team, ensure excellent service, and help supervise kitchen tasks including pizzas baked in a wood-fired oven.

The role offers a 30-hour week with a fixed-term contract through August 2027. No prior experience is required, but a positive, customer-focused attitude and willingness to learn will help you succeed.

Qualifications

• No experience required, but enthusiasm for service is valued.
• Team player who can also work on your own initiative.
• Well-organised and adaptable.
• Ability to lead, support and develop a team.
• Confident handling a variety of situations including complaints.
• Willing to learn new skills.

Responsibilities

• Provide day-to-day support to the team to ensure great service.
• Front-of-house focus, serving customers in the café.
• Maintain displays and signs; assist with food prep as needed.
• Supervise induction and training of colleagues.
• Support kitchen team in the pizza pod trailer when required.
• Training in allergens and food safety; mentoring opportunities.
