Job summary

Hyatt Centric Hotel Cambridge is seeking a Food & Beverage Host to warmly greet guests, take orders, and provide recommendations. You will help ensure a smooth dining experience, maintain high hygiene standards, and support bar and kitchen teams to deliver excellent service.

The role involves serving guests, handling payments, and upholding food safety and allergen-awareness procedures in a fast-paced hospitality environment.

Responsibilities

• Greet guests warmly and create a welcoming atmosphere.
• Take food and beverage orders accurately and professionally.
• Provide menu recommendations and answer product-related questions.
• Serve food and drinks in a timely and efficient manner.
• Anticipate guest needs and respond promptly to requests.
• Handle guest feedback and resolve concerns courteously.
• Set up and clear tables according to service standards.
• Maintain cleanliness and organisation of dining areas.
• Prepare and maintain service stations, cutlery, glassware, and supplies.
• Follow correct procedures for opening, operating, and closing shifts.
• Process payments and handle cash/card transactions accurately.
• Adhere to all food safety, hygiene, and allergen-awareness procedures.
• Follow responsible alcohol service guidelines.
• Report hazards or maintenance issues to management.
• Collaborate with colleagues to ensure smooth service flow.
• Assist in training new team members when required.
• Communicate effectively with kitchen and bar teams to ensure speed and accuracy.
