Job summary

English Heritage is seeking a Food and Beverage Assistant at Rievaulx Abbey. Join a team delivering high standards of customer service using regional produce in a heritage setting. Part-time hours include 24 per week from March to October and 18 per week from November to February.

You’ll contribute to food safety and hygiene, support everyday operations, and participate in events. Prior experience is helpful but full training is provided. A passion for people and great service is key.

• Experience in a food and beverage role and awareness of food safety and allergens would help but isn’t essential as full training will be provided.
• Important that you have enthusiasm and willingness to get involved.

This is a part-time role working a minimum of 24 hours per week from March to October, and then switching to 18 hours from November to February.

As a Food and Beverage Assistant, you will help to prepare food and drinks from the best of regional and local produce at Rievaulx Abbey working as part of a team to support the day-to-day operations. Duties may vary depending on the day, but you can expect to be:

• Taking and preparing food and drink orders
• Assisting with food preparation in our kitchen
• Providing exceptional customer service
• Ensuring a perfect standard of cleanliness and hygiene throughout
• Providing support during our events

About You

To be a Food and Beverage Assistant, you will:

• understand what makes excellent customer service and enjoy delivering this to our customers
• be able to engage in a positive way with people from all backgrounds
• enjoy working as a team

Experience of working in a food and beverage role and an awareness of food safety and allergens would help but it isn't essential as full training will be provided. For us, it's more important that you have bags of enthusiasm and a willingness to get involved.
