Role Overview

JA Mar Hall is one of Scotland’s leading luxury resort destinations and is continuing an exciting journey towards Forbes Travel Guide standards.

Our Food & Beverage operation is at the heart of the guest experience, delivering memorable dining across multiple outlets including The Dining Room, The Gallery, Breakfast, the Clubhouse, Private Dining, Weddings, Meetings, Events and Resort Functions.

As a Food & Beverage Assistant, no two days are the same. You will have the opportunity to work across a variety of outlets and service styles, developing your knowledge and experience whilst delivering genuine luxury hospitality. Flexibility, teamwork and a passion for guest service are essential as you support the wider Food & Beverage operation.

Key responsibilities of the Food and Beverage Assistant will include:

Guest Experience

• Deliver warm, genuine and professional service throughout every guest interaction.
• Create memorable dining experiences by anticipating guest needs and providing personalised service.
• Develop excellent product knowledge across food, beverages and resort facilities.
• Respond confidently to guest requests and resolve concerns promptly.
• Ensure every guest leaves with a positive and lasting impression.

Food & Beverage Operations

• Work flexibly across all Food & Beverage outlets including Breakfast, The Dining Room, The Gallery, Clubhouse, Weddings, Meetings and Events.
• Prepare and set up service areas to exceptional standards.
• Serve food and beverages confidently and professionally.
• Maintain excellent cleanliness, presentation and hygiene standards.
• Support the wider team during busy periods and special events.
• Develop knowledge of menus, wine, cocktails and beverages.

Service Culture

• Demonstrate the JA Resorts & Hotels philosophy by beingWarm, Real and Freshevery day.
• Participate in daily team briefings, coaching sessions and ongoing development.
• Support the hotel’s journey towards Forbes Travel Guide standards through attention to detail and personalised service.
• Follow departmental Standard Operating Procedures whilst contributing ideas for continuous improvement.

Teamwork

• Work collaboratively with colleagues across Food & Beverage, Kitchen, Front Office, Housekeeping and all operational departments.
• Support weddings, conferences and resort events where required.
• Take pride in maintaining exceptional presentation standards throughout the resort.

The Ideal Food and Beverage Assistant:

• Previous Food & Beverage or hospitality experience preferred.
• A passion for delivering exceptional guest experiences.
• Flexible and Willing to work across a variety of outlets and service styles.
• Professional, enthusiastic and guest focused.
• Excellent communication skills and attention to detail
• Knowledge of luxury hospitality or Forbes standards would be advantageous but not essential.
