Job summary

University of Bath is seeking a Food & Beverage Assistant to support the day-to-day catering operations and deliver high standards of service to customers. You will be part of a busy team, handling orders, serving meals and drinks, processing payments, stocking stations, and helping with cleaning and clearing tables during peak times.

The role offers term-time only hours (38 weeks/year) at roughly 9:30–14:30 or 15:30–20:30 on weekdays, with occasional early mornings, evenings, and weekends.

Qualifications

  • Experience providing excellent customer service in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to handle cash transactions accurately.
  • Good communication and teamwork skills.

Job description

As a Food & Beverage Assistant you will be required to ensure that the day to day running of the catering operation is smooth and that customers are provided with a high standard of service at all times.

Work Schedule
  • part-time role working 25 hours per week (5 hours per day) for 38 weeks per year (term-time only)
  • Hours will predominantly be worked Monday to Friday from 9.30am - 2.30pm or 3.30pm - 8.30pm, but could include early morning, evening and weekend shifts
Fixed Time Off
  • 7 weeks off over Christmas and New Year
  • 2 weeks off over Easter
  • 3 weeks off in June (to be agreed with your line manager)
  • 2 weeks off between mid-August and mid-September (to be agreed with your line manager)

You will have experience of providing an excellent standard of customer service in a customer focussed environment. Previous experience of working in the Hospitality industry would be an advantage. You will be a good team worker and be able to be calm and professional in high pressure situations, as it can be extremely busy during peak times.
