Job summary

Gist is recruiting a Warehouse Shift Manager for the Thornbury, Bristol operation. You will lead warehouse teams in a fast-paced FMCG distribution environment, reporting to the Warehouse Operations Manager.

The role involves managing shifts (Wednesday to Saturday) and ensuring safe, efficient day-to-day operations while driving performance and development of staff. The position offers a competitive salary up to £38,000 per annum depending on experience, with a focus on delivering outstanding

Qualifications

• Hands-on warehouse management experience.
• Strong understanding of an FMCG or logistics distribution environment.
• Proven track record of leading and developing teams.
• Flexible to support different shift patterns.
• Experience working with Trade Unions is advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Recruit, onboard and develop high performing warehouse teams.
• Drive performance to achieve shift KPIs.
• Plan people and resources around live volumes.
• Promote safety and maintain HSE standards.
• Collaborate with agencies and stakeholders to resource the operation.
• Lead briefings, investigations and safety observations.
• Improve productivity, accuracy and efficiency.
• Support wider operations with value-added initiatives.
