Job summary

Winsearch is hiring a Warehouse Manager in Rochdale to lead a busy FMCG warehouse. The role focuses on safety, stock control, and continuous improvement, with a clear path to improving service levels and efficiency.

You will manage a sizeable team, ensure accurate inventory, and drive improvements in productivity and cost control. The position is permanent, days-based, Monday to Friday, offering £45,000–£50,000 per annum.

Qualifications

• Significant warehouse management experience within an FMCG environment.
• Proven experience managing and developing a sizeable warehouse team.
• Strong knowledge of warehouse operations, inventory management and stock control.
• Experience working within a fast-paced manufacturing or production environment.
• Strong understanding of health and safety within a warehouse setting.
• Experience working within a quality-controlled FMCG environment.
• Commercially aware with experience managing departmental costs and resources.
• Confident using operational KPIs to monitor and improve warehouse performance.
• Previous involvement in continuous improvement initiatives.
• Strong leadership and people management skills.
• Excellent communication skills with the ability to work effectively across different departments.
• LEAN or 5S experience would be advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Manage the day-to-day warehouse operation and provide effective leadership to the team
• Lead, coach and develop warehouse employees to improve capability and performance
• Ensure stock is received, stored, controlled and despatched efficiently
• Maintain accurate inventory and ensure robust stock control processes are in place
• Ensure warehouse activity supports the requirements of the wider manufacturing operation
• Monitor performance against agreed warehouse and service KPIs
• Identify opportunities to improve productivity, efficiency and operational performance
• Maintain high standards of health and safety throughout the warehouse
• Ensure operational processes meet required food safety and quality standards
• Manage labour effectively in line with operational demand
• Support the management and control of departmental costs
• Ensure warehouse equipment is maintained appropriately
• Develop working practices and procedures that support a consistent and efficient operation
• Work collaboratively with Supply Chain, Operations, Technical and other internal departments
• Lead and support continuous improvement activity within the warehouse
• Ensure employees receive appropriate training and development for their roles
• Maintain strong standards of housekeeping and operational discipline
