Job summary

W Talent is seeking a hands-on Plant Manager for a highly automated FMCG operation in the West Midlands. You will take responsibility for day-to-day performance, safety, and continuous improvement, working closely with production and engineering teams.

The role covers maintenance, facilities and Lean initiatives, driving structured problem-solving to eliminate waste and boost asset reliability while maintaining quality and customer service for major UK retailers.

Qualifications

Proven managerial experience in FMCG or highly automated manufacturing.
Strong engineering background with hands-on equipment experience.
Experience with automated production lines and manufacturing equipment.
Solid maintenance knowledge and leading PPM programmes.
Proven Lean manufacturing and continuous improvement experience.
Hands-on leadership with production and engineering teams.
Experience in fast-paced FMCG environments serving major UK retailers.

Responsibilities

Lead the day-to-day manufacturing operation, ensuring production targets and quality.
Take overall Health & Safety responsibility across the operation.
Collaborate with engineering/maintenance to maximise reliability and performance.
Drive Lean and continuous improvement initiatives to reduce waste.
Develop robust processes and standards to support consistent production.
