Job summary

Yo!Sushi is seeking a Multi-skilled Engineer to join our production facilities in the UK. The role is a full-time, 42-hour per week position on a 4 on 4 off shift pattern (days and nights).

You will bring strong mechanical and electrical expertise, read drawings, and support maintenance across conveyors, motors and automation systems. Ideal candidates have FMCG or food manufacturing experience, robust problem-solving skills, and a proactive, safety-conscious mindset.

Qualifications

• Experience as a multi-skilled engineer in a fast-paced environment.
• Strong mechanical and electrical capabilities.
• FMCG or food manufacturing exposure is preferred.
• Able to read and interpret mechanical/electrical drawings.
• Effective communication and teamwork skills.
• Experience coordinating contractors and cross-functional teams.
• Health & Safety awareness in production settings.

Responsibilities

• Deliver planned, preventative, and predictive maintenance to maximise plant performance.
• Diagnose and repair faults across mechanical and electrical systems.
• Improve OEE, MTTR, and overall equipment reliability.
• Conduct routine inspections and minimise downtime across the site.
• Maintain machinery including motors, conveyors, pumps and gearboxes.
• Support electrical systems, panels, controls and sensors.
• Troubleshoot and enhance automation using PLCs and HMIs.
• Ensure compliance with health, safety and food safety standards.
• Conduct audits and safely remove defective equipment as needed.
• Keep accurate maintenance records using CMMS (e.g., Shire/Pirana).
• Collaborate across shifts and manage on-site contractors.
• Drive continuous improvement and reduce waste.
